Rubirosa was born in the Dominican Republic in 1909. His father was a wealthy landowner, and his mother was a beautiful socialite. Rubirosa grew up in a life of privilege, and he was educated in the finest schools. He was a natural athlete, and he excelled at tennis, swimming, and polo.

In his early twenties, Rubirosa moved to Paris. He quickly became a fixture on the social scene, and he was known for his charm, his wit, and his good looks. He was also a skilled gambler, and he often won large sums of money at the casinos.

In 1932, Rubirosa married Flor de Oro Trujillo, the daughter of Dominican dictator Rafael Trujillo. The marriage was a disaster, and Rubirosa soon began to have affairs with other women. He divorced Trujillo in 1938, and he married Barbara Hutton, one of the richest women in the world.

Rubirosa and Hutton had a son together, but their marriage was also short-lived. Rubirosa continued to have affairs with other women, and he eventually divorced Hutton in 1948.

In the 1950s, Rubirosa became involved in international intrigue. He was allegedly involved in CIA plots to overthrow Fidel Castro, and he was also linked to the Mafia. Rubirosa was a man of many secrets, and he never fully revealed his true motivations.

In 1956, Rubirosa married Odile Rodin, a French actress. The marriage was a happy one, and Rubirosa seemed to have finally settled down. However, in 1965, Rubirosa was killed in a car accident. He was just 56 years old.
